DEFINITION

The art school of the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, Canada, it has a large faculty whose subject matter includes drawing, photography, painting, art history, graphic design, and ceramics. Founded in 1913, it is one of the oldest degree-granting art schools in Canada. The school was joined to the University in 1950, and moved to the Fort Garry Campus from downtown Winnipeg in 1965.
