Sikhara

DEFINITION

In Hindu temples of Vishnu, the tower above the sanctum or shrine. The basic scheme of the Nagara cella comprises the pitha, or base, the prasada consisting of the garbagriha, a cuboidal inner sanctum, the mandovara, or wall which encloses the sanctum and the sikhara, a curvilinear solid of distinctive form that sits on top of the sanctum.(pr.
