DEFINITION

Short for picture element, a dot made by a computer, scanner or other digital device. Also called pel.<br><br>Short for "picture element," a dot of color on a video or computer screen, similar to the grains in a photograph, or dots in half-tone rat. On a computer monitor, each pixel can represent a number of different shades or colors, depending upon how much storage space is allocated for it.(pr.
