Pale colors

DEFINITION

Any tint; colors having high lightness and low saturation. When prepared by mixing pigments, a large amount of white is mixed with a small amout of a hue. The opposite of pale colors in their value ? much lighter, but just as low in saturation ? are called dark colors. Opposite to pale colors in saturation ? highly saturated, but just as low in lightness ? are called brilliant colors.
