Los four

DEFINITION

A collaboration of Chicano artists in Los Angeles who, in 1973, formed an art collective, their goal was to bring Chicano street art to the attention of the mainstream art community of Los Angeles. The next year, the University of California at Irvine held an exhibition for the group, and the show then traveled to the Oakland Museum and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. The artists involved were Frank Romero, Roberto de la Rocha, Gilbert Lujan and Carlos Almaraz.
