Light and space art

DEFINITION

Art expression focused on sensory perceptions rather than traditional fine-art mediums and ideas, it has been a 20th Century art movement. Among its exponents is Robert Irwin with his installations of constantly changing projected light on walls. To achieve the impressions of change, he often filters his light through transparent scrims. Other artists associated with the movement are James Turrell and Eric Orr.
