Julian levy gallery

DEFINITION

Located at 602 Madison Avenue in New York City between 1931 and 1949, it was only one of a few galleries in the city at that time. The Gallery was known for exhibitions of Surrealism, and avant-garde photography and films. Represented artists included Dorothea Tanning, Max Ernst, Friedo Kahlo, and Joseph Cornell.
