DEFINITION

A premium prize offered by the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts beginning 1901, it was the first regular prize in America offered for landscape painting. Among winners are John Fulton Folinsbee, Edward Willis Redfield, Walter Baum, Francis Speight and Thomas Hart Benton.
