Ideogram

DEFINITION

A simple picture-like sign or graphic symbol used either in a signage or a writing system, so that it represents a thing or an idea instead of a letter or specific word, as does the common symbol for "no smoking" or many of the characters used in Chinese writing. In typography, ideograms are often available in fonts known as dingbats.(pr.
