Golden age of danish painting

DEFINITION

Referencing the first half of the 19th century, it was a period of creativity in Danish art, music and architecture, much influenced by German Romanticism. Fine art painter Christoffer Eckersberg has been called the "Father" of this Golden Age of Artists, and others aligned with it are Wilhelm Bendz, Christen Kobke, Martinus Rorbye, Constantin Hansen and Wilhelm Marstrand.
