Blaue vier

DEFINITION

German for "the blue four." An alliance formed in 1924 by four painters, Paul Klee (Swiss, 1879-1940), Wassily Kandinsky (Russian, 1866-1944), Lyonel Feininger (German-American, 1871-1956), and Alexei von Jawlensky (Russian, 1864-1941).
